You can live your passion to the full in different ways, becoming an integral part of it. One of these ways is feeling yourself to be an active part of it, seeking or creating new places in which to express your climbing imagination When does a “thing” become climbable? When we want it to be. When does a wall become climbable? When it has holds and looking for them is what can drive the whole climb. You can invent a whole world in just a few metres of rock. If you don’t have much available, then you’ll realise that you don’t need immense walls or spaces to give a shape to your creativity. This concept has often pushed the best climbers to ascend legendary passages or routes in forgotten places and often way off the normal concept of beauty. If we wish, we can go further and push the concepts of research and creativity to extremes. There are situations that are far from the imagined concept of climbing, that are almost no longer a part of it, except through gestures, the sole theme running from the rocks and through all the rest, between the natural playing area and the more unnatural one that we continue to seek obsessively, even going so far as to create it with our own hands. When we let climbing transport us through the concepts of creativity and research, we cross through some of the areas in which these expressions are found. If rocks are the most commonplace terrain, they will always be the preferred place of any classic climber seeking expression, but with the introduction of a broader concept of climbing, one that is free from classical standards, anywhere there is a vertical surface can be a site for fun and research. Urban spaces can provide us with ideas that are even difficult to find in nature and when even this is not enough, then with just a few elements we are able to create new spaces, where we can pursue the movements that bring together diametrically opposed places …this is climbing.
